The mission of the Beauty Expert is to embody and elevate the spirit of the Beauty Métier within the Maison. As a specialist grounded in advanced technical skill, artistry, and deep industry knowledge, you bring the world of fragrance and makeup to life; translating sensorial complexity into meaningful, personalised client experiences.

Guiding clients through the Beauty universe with warmth, confidence, and refinement, you offer expertise that inspires, reassures, and empowers. You act as a key ambassador of the Beauty Métier within the flagship, shaping how it is experienced across the wider Maison.

Beyond individual client moments, you are a connector; actively seeking opportunities to intertwine Beauty across all divisions of the store. Through collaboration, storytelling, and innovation, you will drive new business opportunities, curate engaging activations, and elevate the presence of Beauty within every client journey.

As a custodian of the Beauty craft, you foster long-term relationships, elevate team capability, and ensure every interaction reflects the creativity, expertise, and heritage of Hermès.

Client Engagement & Expertise

  • Act as the primary in-store expert for Fragrance and Makeup, delivering elevated, bespoke consultations tailored to each client.
  • Demonstrate advanced technical expertise in fragrance profiling, layering, and makeup application, including complexion, colour, and artistry techniques.
  • Translate product knowledge into compelling storytelling, connecting products to client identity, lifestyle, and emotion.
  • Build authentic, long-term client relationships through personalised follow-up and clienteling.
  • Partner with Client Relationship Specialists and other divisions to create seamless, elevated cross-category client experiences.


Business development & Activation
  • Drive the Beauty business through proactive identification of new opportunities within the flagship.
  • Curate and execute a calendar of Beauty activations, animations, and client experiences aligned with brand priorities and commercial goals.
  • Actively collaborate with other Métier teams (e.g. Fashion, Watches, Fine Jewellery) to create cross-divisional moments that integrate Beauty into the broader client journey.
  • Identify and develop new client segments and opportunities to expand the Beauty business.
  • Represent the Maison at key external events, brand moments, and client experiences, delivering expertise, artistry, and storytelling.


Education & Knowledge Sharing
  • Serve as a mentor and coach to colleagues, elevating Beauty knowledge and service standards across the Maison.
  • Support and deliver engaging training sessions on fragrance, makeup, product launches, and selling ceremonies.
  • Translate technical and artistic expertise into accessible, inspiring content for both clients and teams.
  • Stay current with industry trends, innovations, and competitor activity within fragrance and beauty.


Collaboration & Business Insight
  • Provide feedback to leadership and merchandising teams on client preferences, product performance, and emerging opportunities.
  • Influence assortment and strategy through meaningful client insights and awareness.
  • Support in-store activations and events, ensuring a consistently elevated and immersive client experience.
  • Work collaboratively across all divisions to support client appointments and strengthen the overall Maison offering.


Operational & Technical Excellence
  • Act as the go-to expert for product knowledge, application techniques, and client needs within Beauty.
  • Support teams in handling client queries, objections, and tailored product recommendations.
  • Structure and deliver training plans aligned with commercial priorities and product focus.
  • Ensure effective use and understanding of tools, products, and resources across the team.


Required Experience & Expertise
  • Proven experience in Beauty (Fragrance and/or Makeup) within a luxury retail or premium environment.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of fragrance families, olfactive profiling, and makeup artistry techniques.
  • Strong understanding of skin types, tones, and personalised beauty consultation.
  • Experience working with high-value clientele in a relationship-led, service-driven environment.
  • Experience supporting external events such as fashion shows, VIP guests, PR events etc
  • Demonstrated ability to translate technical knowledge into engaging and inspiring client experiences.
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, or training teams.
  • Passionate about Beauty, with a deep love for fragrance, makeup, and client experience.
  • Warm, polished, and refined, with a natural ability to build genuine human connections.
  • Entrepreneurial and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership for driving business opportunities.
  • A natural collaborator who thrives on connecting people, ideas, and departments.
