Summary

the pitch

Join our team as a Business Development Manager in the U.K. You will be responsible for sourcing, winning, and growing your own territory, with a focus on new business development and account management. You will have the opportunity to build and run your own pipeline, win business from entrenched suppliers, and become a trusted advisor to your customers. This role offers a mature portfolio, a proven platform, and the chance to make a significant impact in the retail industry.

Role

posted by company
  • A genuine self-starter with scale-up energy: strategic enough to build the plan, hands-on enough to deliver it, and positive and steady when things get difficult
  • A proven new-business record in retail, FMCG or retail services, with the numbers to back it up
  • Domain fluency. You have sold into or have a deep understanding of retail execution, category management, shopper insights, or sales and data. On-shelf availability, share of shelf, planogram compliance and promo activation are your vocabulary, not a briefing you need first
  • A top-tier closer with a genuine hunter mentality
  • Live relationships with major CPG or retail accounts. You can meetings from the outset
  • Comfortable as the challenger: an incumbent relationship reads to you as a starting point, not a closed door
  • You own numbers, not just relationships: pipeline you sourced yourself, accounts you grew from nothing

Key responsibilities

  • Sourcing, winning, and growing your own territory, with a focus on new business development.
  • Building and running your own pipeline, including prospecting, outreach, qualification, negotiation, and closing.
  • Developing the accounts you win, plus a defined set of existing customers, becoming their go-to trusted advisor.
