To be Considered for this position  

Essential:

  • Broad experience in electrical engineering, preferably with experience of some of the following electrical systems; HV/MV distribution, LV distribution, protection systems, C&I systems, electrical machines including synchronous motor, frequency changers, diesel alternators 
  • Experience of working within the nuclear industry or any other high hazard industry, although this is not considered essential. 
  • Ability to provide practical, creative and cost-effective solutions for design changes / modifications of plant and supporting Infrastructure. 
  • A good understanding of British and international design standards. 
  • A track record of making intelligent evidence based decisions using various sources of data. 
  • Good skills in verbal and written communication. 
  • The ability to effectively manage and prioritise your own workload
  • HNC or equivalent qualifications and experience in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Detailed knowledge of the Design Intent for Electrical Infrastructure in the nuclear industry or similar industry

 

 

Desirable:

  • Incorporated Engineer status or equivalent experience and standing
  • Degree or equivalent qualifications and experience in a relevant engineering discipline

Key responsibilities

  • Technical excellence in the specification, production, and assessment of design packages for infrastructure.
  • Assessment of work control procedures for maintenance of infrastructure and infrastructure design.
  • Discharge and display a robust safety and security culture, ensuring outputs of safety-related contracts meet the contract requirements.
