Join our team as an Engineering Planner, where you will be responsible for developing detailed Level 4 engineering schedules to support the successful delivery of complex projects and programmes. You will work closely with Engineering leads, Technical Authorities, Project Managers, STEP Planners, and delivery teams to ensure effective planning, integration, monitoring, and reporting throughout the engineering lifecycle. Qualifications, experience and skills:

  • APM, PRINCE2, MSP, PMI-SP, or equivalent professional qualifications.
  • Degree in Engineering, Physics, Project Management, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of Systems Engineering and engineering lifecycle management.
  • Experience in developing engineering resource-loaded schedules and resource profiles.
  • Strong experience developing and maintaining detailed schedules using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Understanding of engineering lifecycle processes and systems engineering principles.
  • Knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling techniques.
  • Experience managing dependencies, interfaces, and schedule integration activities.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Understanding of engineering, manufacturing, testing, and commissioning environments.
  • Experience in Defence, Aerospace, Rail, Nuclear, Energy, Infrastructure, or Manufacturing sectors.
  • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed Level 4 (L4) engineering schedules covering requirements, design, development, integration, verification, validation, testing, manufacturing, commissioning, and acceptance activities.
  • Align Level 4 engineering deliverables and work packages with Level 3 (L3) programme schedules and approved Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
  • Coordinate planning activities across multiple engineering disciplines and functional teams, ensuring alignment between engineering deliverables and STEP programme milestones.
