As a Quantity Surveyor, you will provide essential support to minimize costs and risks in decommissioning projects while ensuring compliance with legal standards and quality. You will be responsible for various tasks, including preparing estimates, analyzing project costs, and providing strategic commercial advice. The position is hybrid, with three days onsite in Culham, and requires BPSS clearance.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

  • Good communication and technical writing skills.
  • Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • A degree in quantity surveying or a related subject, accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
  • Chartered status with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)
  • Demonstrable experience in a senior capacity working in Construction/Decommissioning environment on projects with budgets in excess of f20m.
  • Strong contract management expertise, ideally with NEC4 contracts or similar frameworks.
  • Experience of dispute resolution.
  • Ability to perform exploratory design calculations using first principles.
  • A good working knowledge of a broad range of construction and engineering principles.
  • Experience with working to design standards.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of construction and decommissioning techniques and materials.
  • A good understanding of CDM regulations and their implementation.
  • Financial acumen, including advanced analytical and attention-to-detail abilities.
  • Ability to interact with multiple stakeholders across JDR, the wider UKAEA organisation, and industry.
  • Exceptional communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of the management of internal and external stakeholders at different levels.
  • Proficiency with technology and surveying software.
