About the role:


As an Estimator, you will play a vital role in shaping winning proposals by preparing accurate, competitive, and robust cost estimates.  Your work directly supports the successful conversion of opportunities into profitable, deliverable projects - making you a key contributor to our business growth.

 

What you will do:


- Assess tender opportunities and determine their viability.
- Develop clear, well‑structured estimates covering materials, labour, subcontracted works, and methodology.
- Work closely with Operations, Technical, Commercial, and HSQE teams to ensure all estimates reflect operational reality.
- Support the creation of high‑quality bids that align with business objectives, commercial strategy, and risk appetite.

 


What this role involves:


You will combine analytical precision with strong technical insight, commercial awareness, and effective stakeholder engagement across the pre‑construction lifecycle.  This role is perfect for someone who enjoys turning complexity into clarity and contributing to successful project outcomes.

 

Skills and experience you will bring:

- A degree in (civil) engineering or equivalent in a relevant construction discipline (advantageous) 
- Proven ability to develop business within the structural repairs and/or specialist construction sectors (essential) 
- Multi-disciplinary knowledge gained from a number of the following: 
(preference will be given to candidates with a good range of relevant sector knowledge): 

Bridge Repairs

Concrete  Repairs

Cathodic Protection 
Structural Strengthening

External Building Refurbishment

Jacking & Propping

Bearing Replacement

Carbon Fibre Strengthening

Post Tensioning Systems 


- Operational/project background (advantageous) 
- Good connections in the construction sector 

Key responsibilities

  • Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications, and supporting information to define scope and identify key risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare accurate conceptual, budget, and firm-price estimates, defining and quantifying the scope of work.
  • Engage with HSQE, Technical Solutions, Operations, and Commercial teams to ensure estimates are aligned with safe and deliverable methodologies.
