Description of the assignment
Senior Structural Engineers make up the body of the engineering department and are responsible for carrying out the day-to-day developments of the design through the design process.
The Senior Structural Engineer is fundamentally a hands-on analysis and design-based role within the Civil & Structural department that generally includes interfacing with other engineering disciplines in the project design team.
The Senior Structural Engineer also has a shared managerial responsibility in respect of Graduates, Apprentices and/or Designers in the team as and when required to do so.
To be considered for the Senior Structural Engineer position the applicant must be delivering functions above that of a Design Engineer.
Reporting to
Principal Engineer.
Key responsibilities
- Preparation of design documentation throughout the design process, development of designs to satisfy technical specifications, and contribution to design reviews.
- Preparation of technical specifications, risk assessments, technical files, and other technical documentation required by safety legislation and procedures.
- Shared managerial responsibility in respect of Graduates, Apprentices, and/or Designers in the team as and when required to do so.
