Summary
the pitchJoin NUVIA UK, a fast-growing company in the Technical Services & Consulting department. As a Waste Manager (Lifting Equipment), you will be the engineering lead responsible for developing lifting solutions to support future facility operations and decommissioning activities. You will coordinate engineering assessments, manage design activities, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. This is a contract position based in Culham with hybrid travel arrangements.

- Degree (BEng, MEng, BSc or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Nuclear Engineering or other relevant engineering discipline.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status, Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status, or demonstrable progress towards professional registration.
- Demonstrable experience delivering engineering projects within the nuclear, infrastructure, energy, construction or other highly regulated industries.
- Familiarity with the application of CDM Regulations 2015 within engineering and construction projects.
- Working knowledge of LOLER and PUWER requirements.
- Formal project management or engineering management qualification (APM, PRINCE2, PMI or equivalent) is desirable.
Experience:
- Engineering Delivery experience supporting the delivery of engineering projects through design, procurement and implementation phases.
- Experience acting as Project Engineer, Responsible Engineer, Design Engineer or equivalent engineering delivery role.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering activities and technical interfaces.
- Experience developing and reviewing engineering specifications, requirements and technical documentation.
- Experience managing technical risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies.
- Lifting Equipment and Mechanical Systems Experience developing or supporting lifting equipment, handling systems or mechanical plant projects.
- Experience supporting design reviews and engineering assurance activities.
- Experience engaging with operations personnel to ensure engineering solutions are practical, safe and maintainable.
- Experience supporting installation, testing, commissioning or acceptance activities.
- Procurement and Supplier Management Experience preparing technical specifications and scopes of work for engineered plant and equipment.
- Experience supporting procurement and tendering activities.
- Experience evaluating supplier proposals and technical submissions.
- Experience managing technical interfaces with suppliers, contractors and consultants.
- Experience acting as an intelligent customer for externally delivered engineering work.
- Industry Experience of working within nuclear, defence, infrastructure, energy, manufacturing or other highly regulated industries.
- Experience supporting facility modifications, plant upgrades or equipment replacement projects.
- Experience delivering projects involving significant stakeholder engagement is desirable

Key responsibilities
- Act as the Engineering Lead for the Lifting Equipment project, coordinating the development of lifting solutions required to support future operational and decommissioning activities.
- Develop and maintain stakeholder, operational and engineering requirements for the BeHF lifting equipment project, and manage engineering design activities associated with the project.
- Coordinate technical interfaces between engineering disciplines, operations personnel, safety case specialists, Health Physics, project teams and facility stakeholders, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and standards.
