Essential:

  • Degree qualified in a scientific, technical or engineering subject, or equivalent experience,
  • Chartered status with a professional institution in a relevant field, or working towards chartership, Previous industry experience in Safety Case working in a highly regulated industry,
  • Author of safety justifications, safety assessment reports or safety case reports subject to rigorous quality assurance standards,
  • Independent practitioner of several hazard identification and safety assessment techniques
  • Understanding of the purpose and content of safety cases,
  • Quantitative understanding of risk and reliability,
  • Proficient in writing precise safety requirements or safety functional requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver safety assessments for a wide range of nuclear facilities and operations, and produce high-quality safety case documentation.
  • Lead hazard identification studies, perform independent verification of safety case deliverables, and participate in interdisciplinary project teams.
  • Develop an expert level of competence in specialist technical topics, provide technical advice and support to less experienced Consultants, and champion effective safety culture.
