Summary
the pitchJoin Speechify as a Senior Software Engineer on our Core Experiences Team. In this critical role, you will build and maintain foundational services and SDKs that power our product experience across platforms. You will collaborate with product teams, optimize existing functionality, and ship cloud functions and lightweight backend services using Kotlin. Ideal candidates have experience with GCP, Kotlin Multiplatform, and systems thinking.

- Prior experience with GCP is a plus
- Kotlin Multiplatform (Java experience is OK but role is Kotlin Multiplatform)
- Systems thinking. You know that optimizing a system requires end-to-end design, and you believe simplicity is valuable
- Focus. We’re a high-growth startup with a busy, remote team. You know how and when to engage or be heads down
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Teams to scope projects, reduce scope for faster feedback, and deliver solutions via cross-platform SDK.
- Optimize existing functionality to improve loading speed and parsing intelligence by designing efficient abstractions and improving algorithms.
- Ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin, while ensuring end-to-end design and simplicity.
