Summary
the pitchJoin Techspert, an agile and ambitious startup, as a Senior Sales Development Representative (SDR). In this pure outbound role, you will focus on identifying, prospecting, and engaging new corporate customers across various industries, including pharma, biotech, and medtech. You will own the top of the funnel, conducting research, mapping organizations, and creating personalized outreach. Success in this role will be measured by your ability to build high-quality lists of target accounts, start conversations with new stakeholders, and book qualified discovery calls.
Role
posted by company- This isn't a role for someone who wants to wait for inbound leads or be handed a perfect playbook. You'll create your own opportunities
- Demonstrable experience prospecting into new accounts and booking qualified sales meetings
- We're looking for someone who has already proven they can succeed in an outbound environment and is ready for more ownership
- Experience working with a CRM and maintaining an organised prospecting pipeline
- Experience engaging senior stakeholders and navigating complex organisations
- Confidence with cold calling and a willingness to make the phone a core part of your sales approach
- At least 12 months' experience in an SDR, BDR or equivalent outbound new business role
- A track record of working towards and achieving activity and meeting targets
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The best person for this role will be resourceful and relentless: someone who finds a way into an account, experiments when something isn't working and takes personal responsibility for generating opportunities
- Experience using email, LinkedIn and other outbound channels to engage cold prospects
- Evidence that you can generate opportunities independently, rather than relying solely on inbound leads, pre-built lists or highly structured sales processes
- Is curious about customers and takes the time to understand what will make someone engage
- Gets satisfaction from turning a completely cold account into a live opportunity
- Knows that great outbound is about quality as well as volume
- Has a strong internal drive — you don't need someone checking in constantly to keep you moving
- You'll likely be someone who:
- Is coachable and actively looks for ways to improve
- Thrives in a small, fast-moving business where individual contribution really matters
- Above all, we want someone with drive, resourcefulness, resilience and a genuine hunter mentality
- Isn't afraid to pick up the phone and start a conversation
- Is comfortable working independently and deciding where to focus your time
- Experiments, learns quickly and doubles down on what works
- Is resilient enough to hear "no" repeatedly and keep going
- Is ambitious, competitive and motivated by hitting and exceeding targets
- Doesn't need everything to be perfectly defined before taking action
- Takes ownership of results rather than waiting for someone else to solve the problem
- Is resourceful: if you can't find the right person or your first approach isn't working, you find another way
- We're less interested in whether you've worked within the perfect sales machine and more interested in what you've personally done to create opportunities
- Experience selling into pharma, biotech, medtech or the wider life sciences industry
- Experience working in a startup, scale-up, smaller sales team or another environment where you've had to be resourceful and self-sufficient
- Experience prospecting into corporate or enterprise organisations
- An understanding of market research, expert networks, primary research or professional services
- Life sciences experience is a nice to have, not a requirement. We're more interested in finding an exceptional outbound salesperson with the curiosity and ability to learn the market quickly
