As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day developments of the design process, preparing design documentation, developing designs to satisfy technical specifications, and contributing to design reviews. You should have knowledge of reinforced concrete and structural steel, design experience in these materials, and the ability to work to tight deadlines. Nuclear experience or experience in a highly regulated industry is desirable.

Key Accountabilities

  • Preparation of design documentation throughout the design process
  • Development of designs to satisfy technical specifications
  • Prepare supporting design calculations to substantiate design
  • Contribution to design reviews
  • Preparation of technical specifications
  • Preparation of risk assessments, technical files and other technical documentation required by safety legislation and procedures
     

Essential

  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of structures and foundations using
  • Reinforced Concrete and Structural Steel.
  • Design experience in Reinforced Concrete and Structural Steel.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Structural steel connections and connection types.
  • Demonstrable competence gained in a design delivery position
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines,
  • A strong team player. 
     

Desirable

  • Nuclear experience or experience from within a highly regulated industry,
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel with overnight stays overs occasionally
  • Experience of supervision.
     

Occupational Skills and Knowledge

  • A recognised Engineering Certificate such as HNC / HND / Degree
