Purpose of the job

As Audit and Certification Manager you will be required to define, lead, manage, and execute a comprehensive programme of audits and certification activities that ensure Nuvia’s compliance to identified standards and other international safety standards.  These standards include ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, SSiP, ISO 19650, ISO 27001 and ISO/IEC 17025. As you will also provide advice and guidance within your specialism and will be a role model for our E6 behaviours, which support our organisational culture and ways of working.

Key Accountabilities 

Design and deliver an annual audit plan covering internal operations and external supply chain partners to verify compliance with the aforementioned standards and any Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) requirements.
Lead the preparation for the emergence of, and maintenance of, critical certifications, particularly ISO 19443:2018, and ISO 44001, ensuring all organizational processes align with nuclear safety culture.
Act as the primary point of contact for external regulators and Certification Bodies (e.g., ONR, Lloyds, BSI, Environment Agency etc) and provide independent challenge to senior management when safety or compliance weaknesses are identified.
Act as the primary point of contact for Nuvia’s interaction with the British Standards Institute and manage our British Standards On-Line (BSOL) Account. 
Oversee the effectiveness of the QMS, ensuring it encompasses Quality (ISO 9001), Environment (ISO 14001), and Health & Safety (ISO 45001) within a nuclear context.
Manage supplier audits and inspections to prevent counterfeit, fraudulent, or substandard items (CFSI) from entering the nuclear supply chain.
Facilitate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for non-conformances and lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance nuclear safety culture across the project or site.

Act as the primary liaison for external auditors, regulatory bodies, and certification partners to ensure smooth assessments and timely remediation.
Prepare and present comprehensive audit findings to executive leadership and Audit Committees, focusing on data-driven recommendations for process improvement.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of auditors, ensuring they have the technical skills to handle emerging 2026 trends like AI governance and cybersecurity.

Proactively provide advice and guidance related to your areas of responsibility and/or expertise to external contacts/stakeholders and to colleagues.

Engage with external contacts/stakeholders and colleagues to build effective relationships and reach mutually beneficial solutions.

Ensure advice is actioned in a way, which achieves the required outcome.

Develop others to provide advice and guidance to a high standard.
